Devon thieves leave owner with 4 random wheels in place of his set of Alloys

Motorist is the victim of odd theft after his VW alloys were taken when his car broke down near Braunton, North Devon.

Thieves with a warped sense of humour stole four alloy wheels from a broken down car – and replaced them with four odd ones.

The bizarre theft happened in the car park at the Braunton Inn between 10pm and 12.30am on Friday, February 3.

The owner of a silver VW Golf had broken down and left his car there while he went for assistance.

Police said when he returned, the alloys worth around £650 had been stolen and replaced with a random assortment of four odd wheels.
